From domain purchase to a working website.

01 / Scope

One journey. One useful outcome.

The audience is first-time domain buyers creating a small service-business website. Activation means a verified public website on the purchased domain within seven days. A saved draft, email click or DNS edit is not enough.

The review covers five existing emails, their timing, send rules and destinations. The deliverable is an annotated report, an editable priority list, a recommended journey and measurement guidance.

02 / Evidence

Three findings from the review.

01E01 / Welcome
“Build a website, add a professional mailbox, or explore more names.”

Three competing activities lead to a generic dashboard.

Change: Lead with website setup and link to a chooser for the right setup path.

02E03 / Setup education
“Open DNS settings and point your domain to your hosting provider.”

Every buyer receives DNS instructions, including people using the included builder.

Change: Separate builder, external-host and unknown-path guidance.

03E04 / Day-five message
“Now that your website is live, add a professional mailbox.”

The schedule never checks whether the website is actually live.

Change: Remove the unsupported claim and stop setup reminders after verified activation.

03 / Journey rule

The next message depends on progress.

Proposed journey logic, not an executed platform workflow.

Before each sendCheck permission, domain status, verified activation and recent messages.
Website is liveExit

Cancel remaining setup reminders.

Status is missing or staleHold

Refresh status and skip expired messages instead of sending a backlog.

Setup is unfinishedRoute

Send the builder, external-host or setup-chooser path that matches the customer.

Keep one enrollment and a proposed limit of one lifecycle message per rolling 24 hours across campaigns. Unsubscribes, complaints, invalid purchases and setup-support holds prevent a send. Mailbox promotion belongs outside this pre-activation journey.

04 / Measurement

Define success before testing.

Measure verified publication within seven days against the full eligible purchase cohort after its observation window matures. Keep later cancellations and unsubscribes in that denominator. Use a separate 14-day measure for outcomes after the final reminder.

No performance results are claimed. The first proposed test compares a generic dashboard destination with a direct setup destination, after eligibility checks and event tracking have been verified.

05 / Handoff

A clear record for the team doing the work.

Each priority connects to source evidence, a dependency and a check for completion. The audit recommends what to change and what needs to be true before the change is safe.
